This walk takes about 45 minutes to an hour and involves steep steps, crossing low level rocks and scrambling though tight spaces. It is perfect for anyone with children that need to run off some energy and like exploring. Amazing views and great fun.
Important - This is a low tide walk and involves checking with the office or lifeguards at Lusty Glaze before you set off, to ensure that you have the correct timing of the tide for this walk. You need to start your walk an hour before low tide.
1. Lusty Glaze Beach
Start at Lusty Glaze Beach and head down the beach following the cliffs around to the left. There are some low level rocks to climb to get into the next bay, known as Little Lusty, or you can pick your way through the gaps in the rocks if you prefer.

2. Little Lusty
At low tide, Little Lusty opens out into a beautiful cove with 200 foot high cliffs towering above you. The rock pools, caves and ponding surf in front of you are an amazing attack on the senses.

3. The Secret Passage
Step A - Look for the crack in the rock as you get toward the point of the headland.

Step B - There is an entrance to the cave, it looks like there is no exit, it’s very dark so just move a few more paces inside …..

Step C - as you move further inside, you will suddenly be able to see a tiny chink of light coming through from the Tolcarne side of the cliff. This passageway runs right through the headland…

Step D - You are now right in the heart of the cliff surrounded by thousands of tonnes of granite.

Step E - It is an amazing experience getting to the other side and emerging into the light.

4. Tolcarne Beach
You emerge into a little cove, straight in front of you is Tolcarne Beach with it’s café, bar and restaurant. The Rocklands development is perched on the cliff top above, with the amazing views from the Pizza Express restaurant. However, if you are planning to walk back across the beach to Lusty Glaze it’s best to push on as the tide waits for no man.

5. The walk back
As you head north, back towards Lusty Glaze take a glance back and appreciate the beautiful views of Newquay bay and the Harbour.

6. Returning to Lusty Glaze
Once you pass the rocks at the point where Tolcarne and Little Lusty meet, you are away from the marching tide and can enjoy exploring the rock pools and beach.
