Towan Beach
In the centre of town and next to the Harbour, Towan Beach is a very popular sandy beach. It is very sheltered, and the water is usually calm compared to the other beaches, so it is more family friendly than some of the other Newquay beaches. There is a good combination of rocks and sand for explorers and a small, seawater swimming pool for use in the summer. The famous Towan Island is connected to the mainland by a suspension bridge but don’t think about visiting, it is a private residence! The Blue Reef Aquarium is on hand and good fun for entertaining the kids.
Facilities: Lifeguards (in season), Toilets, Cafe.
