Fistral and Pentire
Home to the world famous Fistral Beach – the surfing capital of the U.K. – the area to the west of Newquay town centre offers something for everyone.
Beach lovers are served by the wide expanse of Fistral Beach with it’s consistent surf, while Little Fistral and South Fistral offer rockpooling for children of all ages. Surf lessons and wetsuit and board hire are available on the beach for the more adventurous, or browse the trendy surf shops on the beach.
Fistral Blu is the restaurant on the beach – a great position to watch the sun setting. Fistral Beach is encompassed by Newquay golf course and Pentire Head.
The golf course welcomes visiting guests to its 6000 yard plus course with a fantastic sea views as the backdrop. Pentire Head extends out to offer walks and panoramic views along the North Cornwall coastline. Here you will find Lewinnick Lodge, perched on the cliff, which offers fabulous cuisine with a view.
On the other side of Pentire Head, the Gannel Estuary is home to rare species of plants and birds, with access to Crantock Beach via a seasonal foot passenger ferry. Walkers can enjoy the easy access into the countryside and South West Coastal Path.
